Ms LUK, Amelia Siu-ping

Ms LUK was born and educated in Hong Kong. She holds an LL.B. degree and P.C. LL. from the University of Hong Kong. She is also the holder of LL.M. and M. Soc. Sc (Public Administration) degrees from the University of Hong Kong. Ms Luk was qualified as a solicitor of Hong Kong. She spent her entire career with the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) Government. She was Head of the International Law Division of the Department of Justice from 2008 to 2016. The International Law Division is responsible for advising the HKSAR Government on issues relation to public and private international law, and the application and interpretation of international treaties, conventions and agreements applicable to the HKSAR. Counsel of the Division negotiate or provide legal support to Government in the negotiation of bilateral and multilateral agreements and execute requests for international and regional legal co-operation. Ms Luk has already retired from Government service.
